What’s included, and common cost questions
What does the monthly price include? Usually rent, three meals, housekeeping and activities. Care is often priced separately by level of help.
Do prices go up? Most communities raise prices once a year. Ask how much the last increase was and how much notice they give.
Can Medi-Cal pay? Some assisted living communities take the Assisted Living Waiver. Ask The Havens whether they do and if there’s a waiting list.
These are prices The Havens published. They aren’t quotes.
Rating & safety How to read thisThese are the state’s own categories. Type A: problems that, if not corrected, put residents’ health, safety or rights at direct and immediate risk. Type B: problems that could become a risk without correction, or record-keeping problems that affect care. Both must be corrected. Complaints the state didn’t confirm are shown but never counted against the community.

Our dad was a resident at The Havens assisted living facility for approximately 2½ years. When he first moved in we were very happy with the staff, the quality of care, meals, and overall value for the level of assistance he required. Unfortunately, the positive experience did not last.
Over the last year or so, the quality of care and staff professionalism has declined dramatically.…

I would like to recognize and commend Christine Ellis at the Havens of Antelope Valley for the exceptional care, professionalism, and warmth she has shown our family.
From the very first time we met Christine to our most recent interaction more than two years later, she has been an absolute joy to be around. She brings a genuine brightness to the facility, and it is easy to see why she is so…

My brother-in-law lived at Havens at Antelope Valley for two years, and our family couldn’t be more grateful for the love and care he experienced there. Even though it’s an independent living community, the staff was always there when he needed them—kind, attentive, gentle, and genuinely caring in a way that felt like family.
He valued his independence, and The Havens gave him the perfect balance…
