What’s included, and common cost questions
What does the monthly price include? Usually rent, three meals, housekeeping and activities. Care is often priced separately by level of help.
Do prices go up? Most communities raise prices once a year. Ask how much the last increase was and how much notice they give.
Can Medi-Cal pay? Some assisted living communities take the Assisted Living Waiver. Ask Quail Park whether they do and if there’s a waiting list.

Rating & safety How to read thisThese are the state’s own categories. Type A: problems that, if not corrected, put residents’ health, safety or rights at direct and immediate risk. Type B: problems that could become a risk without correction, or record-keeping problems that affect care. Both must be corrected. Complaints the state didn’t confirm are shown but never counted against the community.

I am the main contact for her care, so I have been able to get to know some of the staff. Amanda Chairez has been a huge blessing to my grandmother and myself. She is so caring and attentive and makes sure that the residents all have a voice. When I am there visiting…

They clean his room once a week and clean his clothes but don’t fold them or put the clothes away. He has fallen in the stairs and no one…
